Hendrik Van Eikema HommesHendrik J. van Eikema Hommes ( - ) was the successor to Herman Dooyeweerd the philosopher and Juridical scholar at the Free University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In bibliographies there is sometimes confussion as to listing this scholar's name as "van Eilkema Hommes," in which case many directories would also put the "van" to the rear of the first name: Eikema Hommes, Hendrikus van. Or, as to listing his name thus: Hommes, Hendrikus van Eikema. We shall follow the latter convention. Hommes wrote an Introduction to the Philosophy of Dooyeweeerd, and with it an important biograhical note regarding his mentor, but numerous legal studies that established the positoin of Hommes as a thinking Jurist in his own right.
