HellbilliesThe Hellbillies are a Norwegian country rock group started in 1990, and they are quite popular in Norway. As of 2004, they have released nine albums, and all of them have sold very well in Norway. The second album Pela Stein got the price Spellemannsprisen (a Norwegian version of the Grammy Award) for best "roots" album 1993. The lyrics are in the "halling"-dialect and they are singing about Norwegian people and Norwegian life. They have also collaborated with musicians from USA: Mr. Rob Hajacos from Nashville, who is playing the violin on most of the Garth Brooks albums, also plays the violin on three of the Hellbillies' albums. He has also been to Norway twice in order to do live gigs and cut records together with Hellbillies. On their second album, the Crazy Mama's Studio in Nashville was used for overdubs, and they also went back to Nashville to do overdubs on their fourth album which was released in November 1996. Their fifth album which is recorded live at the Down on the Farm festival was released in october 1997. In April 1999, they released a new studio album called Sol over livet. The next album was released at the end of February 2001. During the next month, the album sold in over 30000 copies and passed the level of the Norwegian Gold Record award. It is recorded in the Hit Shack studio in Austin, Texas with Stephen Bruton as producer. Discography External links - http://www.hellbillies.com — Official website
