Heisenberg Effect

The Heisenberg effect describes a system in which the observation or measurement of an event changes the event. The Heisenberg Effect has been informally used to describe systems in various fields from computer science to the social sciences. Although the name is derived from the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle, most common applications of this term have little if anything to do with the uncertainty principle in physics, and occur on the macroscopic scale.
