Head (Movie)

'Head' is a motion picture first released in 1968, written and produced by Bob Rafelson and Jack Nicholson and starring the Monkees. A multi-faced stream of consciousness movie, the film included cameos by Jack Nicholson, Teri Garr, Toni Basil, Frank Zappa, and Dennis Hopper. Head was released on DVD by Rhino Entertainment in the late 1990s. The movie features some of the best recorded work by the Monkees, including songs contributed by Carole King and Nilsson: Porpoise Song (Theme from Head) (Gerry Goffin / Carole King), Circle Sky (Michael Nesmith), Do I Have To Do This All Over Again? (Peter Tork), Daddy's Song (Nilsson), Can You Dig It (Peter Tork), and As We Go Along (Carole King/Toni Stern).
