He Don't Love You

ight
He Don't Love You (And He'll Break Your Heart) was the name of a 1965 track by Levon and the Hawks, released on Atco Records as the B-side to singles released in that year and in 1968, the latter release to capitalize on the release of Music From Big Pink. An R&B rave-up, with soulful lead vocals by Richard Manuel, it was a world away from the music The Band would be creating just three short years later. It is believed that Phil Ramone had something to do with the track's recording, probably as sound engineer. It's original A-side was "The Stones I Throw", its replacement A-side "Go Go Liza Jane".
