Hd 208487HD 208487 is a 7th magnitude star in the constellation of Grus. Like our Sun, it is a yellow dwarf star. It has the same spectral type as our sun, G2 V. However, it is probably slightly less massive and more luminous, indicating a bit older age. In 2004 a planet was announced orbiting the star. HD 208487 b The planet, HD 20848 b, has a minimum mass close to half that of Jupiter and is most certainly a gas giant. The planet orbits the star in a close, very eccentric orbit.
