Hartmann Pipelines

Hartmann Pipelines are an extension to the concept of UNIX pipes, implemented for several IBM mainframe platforms. Invented by John Hartmann, an engineer with IBM Denmark, they are also known as CMS Pipelines, from their first supported platform.
