harrow-on-the-hill station

Harrow-on-the-Hill station is a National Rail and London Underground station in Harrow, London in north London. It is in Travelcard Zone 5. The London Underground service at Harrow-on-the-Hill is provided by the Metropolitan line, and it is the last station before that line devides into its Uxbridge and Amersham/Watford branches. Northwick Park, North Harrow and West Harrow are the next stations towards London, Amersham/Watford and Uxbridge respectively. However the Metropolitan line operates a complex pattern of trains, and not all trains stop at all stations. "Fast" and "semi fast" services do not stop between this station and Finchley Road station. Trains to central London terminate at either Aldgate or Baker Street stations. The National Rail service at Harrow-on-the-Hill is provided by Chiltern Railways services operating between Marylebone station and Aylesbury. The station is above ground and has has 6 platforms. Two of these are normally used by Chiltern Railways and the other four by the Metropolitan Line, although the layout allows some flexibility in this. This is the heart of Metro-land.
