The Village of Harrisville is in the northeast part of the Town of Diana. Geography Harrisville is located at 44°9'8" North, 75°19'11" West (44.152226, -75.319733). According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.1 km² (0.8 mi²). 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.75% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 653 people, 266 households, and 172 families residing in the village. The population density is 327.4/km² (849.6/mi²). There are 299 housing units at an average density of 149.9/km² (389.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.93% White, 0.00% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.61% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 266 households out of which 28.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% are married couples living together, 7.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% are non-families. 28.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.06. In the village the population is spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 25.0% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 86.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.5 males. The median income for a household in the village is $30,833, and the median income for a family is $32,946. Males have a median income of $32,417 versus $19,545 for females.
