Hanadi Jaradat

Hanadi Tayseer Abdul Malek Jaradat (September 22, 1975October 4, 2003), a Palestinian woman from Jenin, blew herself up in an attack on Saturday, October 4, 2003 in the busy beach restaurant Maxim's in the northern Israeli city of Haifa. Twenty-one people of mixed nationalities (including indeterminate amounts of people with Jewish or Arabic national backgrounds) where fatally wounded, with 51 people being injured. She was one of the first female suicide bombers. Jaradat was a lawyer and a member of Islamic Jihad, an Islamist militant group that the US, EU and Israel refer to as a terrorist organization. According to reports, she was motivated by the death of her older cousin (Salah, age 34), and especially by the death of her younger brother (Fadi, 25) in her presence during an IDF undercover operation to apprehend a cousin who was wanted by Israel.
