Guo Moruo

Guō Mru (郭沫若, Wade-Giles: Kuo Mo-jo;), courtesy name Dǐng Tng (鼎堂) (November 16, 1892 - June 12,1978) was a Chinese author, poet, historian, and archaeologist. In 1914 he left China to study medicine at Kyushu Imperial University (九州帝国大学). In 1921 he published his first collection of poems, titled The Goddesses (女神). He cofounded the Creation Society (a literary society) and was a strong believer in Marxism, joining the Chinese Communist Party in 1927. He was the first President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from its founding in 1949 until his death in 1978. Guo Moruo Guo Moruo
