Guan Dao

Guan Dao (關刀 also Kwandao, Kwando) is a Chinese weapon named after Guan Yu. It is a sabre with a long handle which resembles a halberd. The weapon was designed for horseback combat in battlefield, however, the user also needed to know how to fight with it on foot. Guan dao is the common name for the yanyuedao (偃月刀 pinyin yan3 yue4 dao1 which translates as 'reclining moon blade'). Guan Yu's Guan Dao was called "green dragon crescent moon" (青龍偃月刀) which weighed 82 Chinese jin (estimated 49 kg.)
