Grim And FrostbittenGrim and frostbitten (also: Grim and true or Grim and trve) is a term used by members of the Heavy Metal community to refer to Black Metal bands that have stayed true to their roots. To qualify for being grim and frostbitten, a band has to come from Scandinavia or a comparably cold region of the Earth (e.g. Siberia). It is also imperative for band members to wear corpsepaint at any time and pose in the vicinity of cameras. The spelling "trve" is sometimes used to put additional emphasis on the strength needed to survive the hostility of Scandinavian winters. The change of "u" to "v" is believed to be a reference to the traditional runic script of the region which features a very pointy appearance.
