Grigorij Meseznikov

Grigorij Mesežnikov was born in Orel in the USSR in 1958. In 1979 he moved to Slovakia with his wife and unborn daughter. At first, he worked in the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, then with his good friend Martin Btora (presidential candidate in the 2004 election) they founded the IVO (Institute for Public Affairs, Slovak: Inštitt pre verejn otzky). Since 1998 he is the president of the institute. IVO's aim is spreading principles of democracy in Slovakia. Grigorij Mesežnikov is a frequent contributor in many politics-related newspapers in Slovakia.
