GridlockGridlock is a term describing an inability to move on a transport network. If drivers follow this rule of the road, gridlock will be prevented and traffic will only be slow in the direction that is actually congested.
Gridlock is a novel by Ben Elton. "Gridlock" in a political context refers to difficulty of passing party agenda items in a legislature that is close to being evenly divided. In US politics, this situation most frequently occurs when the House of Representatives and the Senate are controlled by opposing parties. Gridlock is also an electronica band.
