Greymalkin

Greymalkin was the name of the grey cat that acted as the familiar to the Three Witches in the First Act of Shakespeare's Macbeth. Greymalkin is an antiquated name for a grey cat, just as "Paddock" was for a toad, also mentioned by the Three Witches. The governess/witch in the novel The Midnight Folk by John Masefield has two familiars named Greymalkin and Blackmalkin. The X-Men series of comic books from Marvel Comics includes two references: Both a space station named Greymalkin (later renamed Avalon) and the home address of the X-Mansion on Greymalkin Lane refer to this.
