Greg Laurie

  Laurie is the senior pastor of the Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California. He began his pastoral ministry at age 19 by leading a Bible study of 30 people. The church that formed out of the group now has around 15,000 people attending it - the eighth leargest in America  and the third largest in California. 
Laurie started his ministry within the context of the Jesus Movement in the early 1970s and was heavily influenced by, and eventually worked with, seminal evangelist Lonnie Frisbee http://one-way.org/jesusmovement/index.html Laurie and his wife Cathe have two children and reside in Southern California. He holds two honorary doctorates from Biola University and Azusa Pacific University and serves on the board of directors of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan's Purse. Laurie is the leader of Harvest Crusades, and featured speaker of the radio program, A New Beginning. He also has authored a number of books and study notes for Bibles. In 1990, Laurie began holding public evangelistic events called Harvest Crusades. Since that time, it is estimated that nearly three million people have attended Harvest Crusades in California, Seattle, Oregon, Philadelphia, New York, Hawaii, Florida and in Australia.
