Green Party (Georgia)

The Green Party is a green party in Georgia. It is led by Gia (George) Gachechiladze. Its success has varied - it received 11 members of parliament in 1992 and was part of the governing coalition in 1995 and stood as part of Eduard Shevardnadze's coalition in the anulled 2003 elections. When it stood independently in 1999 it only received 0.55% of the vote. It believes that the 2003 elections were "the most transparent process in the history of Georgia".
