Greater Croatia

Greater Croatia is a movement which roots can be traced well into the 19th century but were not made public before the years of crisis in the First Yugoslavia during 1930's. Many of its followers have supported and joined the Nazis in their efforts to subjugate and take over Serbia and Yugoslavia. The ustasha leader was ban Ante Pavelic under who's command hundreds of thousands of Serbs have been massacred and expelled from Croatia, a Nazi puppet-state. The state name was "Independent State of Croatia" and it included all of today's Croatia, Bosnia, reaching as far as northern Belgrade- Zemun. Following the victories of the Serbian and Yugoslav partisans many of the leaders of ustashe have fled to Italy, Western Europe and particularily South America. The horrifying crimes have taken place in Jasenovac, Stara Gradiska and many other death camps in Croatia. During the yugoslav wars in the 1990s and following the end of the war Croatian army has taken over Serbian dominated regions and sent hundreds of thousands of Serbs into exile in Serbia, where most of them still are today.
