Gray Mouse-lemur The Gray Mouse-lemur (Microcebus murinus) is, by far one of the smallest of all the primates, smaller even than the Pygmy Marmoset, which is the smallest monkey. Its dorsal side is gray with various reddish tones, while white ventrally. It can be found in the damp woodlands of the west, south and southwest coasts of Madagascar. The Gray Mouse-lemur ranges from 10-14 cm excluding a 10-15 cm tail. It weighs 40-70g depending on the season. This is a nocturnal animal which sleeps in groups low in the trees. It forages alone, feeding on fruit, flowers, insects and small animals.
