Gray, a lawyer and soldier in the Civil War. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,407 km² (929 mi²). 2,404 km² (928 mi²) of it is land and 3 km² (1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.10% water.
