Gravitational Field

The gravitational field is a field (physics) that causes bodies with mass to attract each other. If a small test particle of mass m is placed in a gravitational field, it experiences a force \mathbf F. The gravitational field, \mathbf g, is then defined as:
\mathbf g = \frac{\mathbf F}{m}
The field has units of force divided by mass; in SI, this is N \cdot kg^{-1}. For more information, see Gravity.
