Grant Green

Grant Green (June 6th, 1935, St. Louis, MO - January 31, 1979, New York City, NY) is one of the most overlooked of jazz guitar players. Green recorded almost exclusively for Blue Note Records, recording some of the best guitar driven hard bop, soul jazz, and bebop of the 1960s. Drug use disrupted his career, as it did the careers of many jazz musicians at the time, and most likely led to the health problems that killed him in 1979.
