Grandparents Association

The Grandparents;' Association is a UK charity that helps grandparents keep in touch with their grandchildren following dovorce or separation. It was launched in 1987 by a group of grandparents whose grandchildren had been put into care, adopted from care or were not allowed any contact with them. In the UK, grandparents have no rights in respect of their grandchildren to be involved in their lives. Following divorce or separation, it is common for one parent to acquire exclusive control of the children, and grandparents can find that they all too easily lose touch with their grandchildren. The Grandparents Association exists to support grandparents in this situation.
