Grand Rapids Community College

Grand Rapids Community College is a college offering an Associate's degree, a variety of certification programs, occupational training, and other learning opportunities for the surrounding community. It was founded in 1914 as Grand Rapids Junior College, as part of the Grand Rapids Public Schools system. It was rechartered in 1991 by the Kent Intermediate School District as a community college. In 2003 it had over 24,000 full- and part-time students enrolled. Its primary campus is located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan with satellite facilities located in various parts of the city and county, and the surrounding area.
