Governor-general Of FinlandThe Governor-General of Finland was the head of the Senate of Finland, the government in the autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland, between 1808 and 1917. The Governor-General was the highest representative of the Russian Tsar and received his instructions directly from the Tsar. Many of the Governors-General were intensively disliked by the Finnish population.
