Googlepedia

"Googlepedia" is an informal term used to describe a possible cooperation project between the famous search engine Google, and Wikipedia, the collaborative online encyclopedia you are reading. To ease the cost to the Wikimedia Foundation of hardware and bandwidth, Google has proposed to host all or parts of Wikipedia on their servers. As of late February 2005, no details have been finalised or released. The term was coined by computer columnists and bloggers, such as John C. Dvorak as a convenient way of referring to the potential result. It is worth noting that the portmanteau had already been occasionally used in other contexts, and its longevity as a term is uncertain.
