Golden Reel Award

The MPSE Golden Reel Award is an award presented by the organization of Motion Picture Sound Editors in categories related to the craft of audio post production, such as "Sound Editing", "Music Editing", "Dialog Editing", and "Sound Effect Editing". The award was first presented in 1953 and has continued into the present. The National Federation of Community Broadcasters also gives out a "Golden Reel" award yearly, to entertainment programs shown on public television or community access television. This award is less well-known than its counterpart and is sometimes referred to as the "NFCP Golden Reel Award".
A Golden Reel Award or Prix Bobine d'Or is also presented by the Canadian Genie Awards (and by it predecestor The Canadian Film Awards)to the Canadian film which had the most box office gross in Canada that year.
