Gold's Gym

Gold's Gym is a American chain of gyms, founded in California by Joe Gold. Gold's beachside gym was frequented by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and featured in his 1977 movie Pumping Iron. Although Joe Gold sold Gold's Gym in 1970 to join the merchant marines, his name remained, and his former company's expansion through franchising far outpaced that of Gold's later chain, World Gym.
