Gnome Display Manager

GDM (GNOME Display Manager) is an alternate display manager for the X Window System. The default display manager for X is XDM, but resolving configuration issues typically involves using the command line. GDM allows users to customize or troubleshoot the settings without having to resort to a command line. Users can pick their session type on a per-login basis. GDM is also easily customizable with themes.
