Gm L Platform
The
General Motors
L platform
(commonly called
L-Body
) was a
compact car
automobile platform
produced from
1987
through
1996
. The L-body was essentially identical to the
N-body
platform used by other GM divisions with the same 103.4 in wheelbase and rear
beam
suspension. The L-body platform lasted just one generation, with the nameplates retired and replaced by the
N-body
Chevrolet Malibu
sedan
