Glyn Valley Tramway

The Glyn Valley Tramway connected Chirk with Glyn Ceiriog in Denbighshire (now Wrexham County Borough), Wales. The gauge of the line was 723.9 mm (2'4.5"). The total length of the line was 14.1 km (8.75 miles): 10.5 km (6.5 miles) of which were worked by passenger trains, the remainder serving a large stone works. The initial line, the 10 km (6.5 miles) referred to, was opened in 1873, and was worked by horses. In 1888 the line was partially rebuilt and extended, and steam traction was introduced. The line closed altogether in 1935, and only traces of the route remain.
