Glover ParkNamed for Washingtonian Charles Carroll Glover an influetial late 19th and early 20th century banker and philanthropist. He is credited with the creation of DC's Rock Creek park system as well as having an influential role in the creation of embassasy row through generous land donations. He is also considered the father of the National Zoo and Rock Creek Parkway. The name Glover Park is generally given to the neighborhoods surronding wisconsin ave between aproximatly Calvert St. and Reservoir Rd. The neighborhood is bordered by an extension of Rock Creek park called Glover-Archbald park (named after Charles Glover and Anne Archbald who donated the land). The neighborhood is sometimes reffered to as upper georgetown in the real estate listings. Glover Park is actually over a mile away from Georgetown on Wiconsin, and inbetween is another "upper georgetown" Burlieth. This information was obtained from www.gloverpark.org and my own personal experience.
