Glenn Ponder

Glenn Ponder was a character played by Steve Brown in UK comedy series Knowing Me, Knowing You (1994). Glenn was in charge of Alan Partridge's house band. Every week, Ponder's house band appeared to change, or at least change its name: the bands were introduced as Chalet, Debonair, Ferrari, Bangkok, Savoir Faire, Lazarus. At the end of the fifth episode, filmed in Paris, Ponder is fired for partying with the crew the night before and deliberately not inviting Alan along. But he is back in the next episode, as Alan accepts uncomfortably that he must remain while the dismissal is examined in an industrial tribunal. Somehow, he also returns - minus band but with a tinny synthesiser - in Alan's Christmas Special the following year.
