Glenn HallGlenn Hall (known as Mr. Goalie) (b. October 3, 1931) was a professional ice hockey player from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada. After a couple of short NHL stints and time playing in the WHL, he made the Detroit Red Wings lineup as their starting goalie in 1955, replacing the great Terry Sawchuk. Hall is widely regarded as among the first NHL goalies to master the butterfly style of goaltending. Many have regarded him the best goalie ever to play the game, considering that he still holds the record for the most First Team All-Star selections (7) while playing the same era as other greats, Terry Sawchuk and Jacques Plante, as well as other Hall of Famers, like Johnny Bowers, Gump Worsely, and Roger Crozier.
