The Gilcrease Expressway will be a highway in Tulsa County's overall, long-term plan to complete an outer highway loop around Tulsa's central business district. The highway will connect Interstate-44 in West Tulsa to 'State Highway 20 in northwest Tulsa. Currently, only the Gilcrease Expressway Extension has been constructed. Many homes have been destroyed or removed along S. 57th W. Ave. between W. 26th St. and W. 21st St.. Plans include construction of a bridge over the Arkansas River, connecting Sand Springs and Berryhill. Another section of the Gilcrease Expressway will connect State Highway 51 in Sand Springs to U.S. Highway 75 and State Highway 20.
