Gil Gutknecht

Gilbert "Gil" William Gutknecht, Jr. (born March 20 1951), is an American politician. Gutknecht has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 1995, representing Minnesota's First Congressional District (map). He was born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and graduated with a degree in business from the University of Northern Iowa. He was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1982 to 1994 before entering Congress. He has announced plans to run for re-election in 2006.
