Gerrit Boon

Gerrit Boon (or Garrett Boon) was a native of Leyden in Holland and came to America in 1793. He was an agent of the Holland Land Company and worked to develop company lands in New York in the USA. The Village of Boonville and the Town of Boonville in Oneida County, New York are named after him.
