Gerrards Cross

Gerrards Cross is a large village in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the very south of the county, near the border with Middlesex, south of Chalfont St Peter. The village name is fairly new, when compared to other villages that surround it. It is named after the Gerrard family that, in the early 17th century, owned a manor here. At that time it was a hamlet in the parish of Chalfont St Peter. Today Gerrards Cross is a very upmarket village in the commuter belt of London, and house prices are extremely high here. The parish church is dedicated to St. James. Its station, Gerrards Cross, on the Chiltern Line provides its rail link to London Marylebone.
