George Miller

For the American psychologist, see George A. Miller George Miller (born March 3, 1945) is an Australian film and television screenwriter, film director and producer. He wrote and directed the Mad Max movies starring Mel Gibson; co-wrote Babe and wrote and directed its sequel; and Lorenzo's Oil. He has directed The Witches of Eastwick, starring Jack Nicholson, Susan Sarandon, Cher and Michelle Pfeiffer. George Miller's role as producer of Flirting, Dead Calm and the TV mini-series Bangkok Hilton and Vietnam, all starring Nicole Kidman, was instrumental in the early development of her career. As of February 2005, he is in Sydney, Australia directing the computer-animated film Happy Feet, a musical epic about the life of penguins in Antarctica. The Warner Brothers-produced film is due for release in mid-2006 and is expected to be Australia's largest ever animated film project, with a crew of over 300 artists and technicians.
Another George Miller is also an Australian film and television director and producer. Scottish-born George Miller directed many classic Australian television series, including Homicide, Matlock Police, and The Sullivans. His films include The Man From Snowy River and The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter.
