Gennes, Maine-et-loire

Gennes is a French village and a commune astride the Loire River, in the Maine-et-Loire dpartement.

History

Gennes was the scene of a heroic defence by the Cadets of Saumur in World War 2. The French soldiers are buried in a nearby hilltop church overlooking the scene of their sacrifice.
