General Union Of Students In Iraqi RepublicThe Union was founded in the 14th of April 1948 in public conference where the students were participated in his nation across democratic election, most to the Iraqi colleges, institutions and secondary schools and take name general union of Iraqi student. - His motto was (Central union) for free life, for free student life, for best future. His central newspaper was called (students struggle). - The union is a democratic organization, having common, patriotic nature and his constitution enable, all the Iraqi students to be members in spite of their political or national or religious origin. - Change of unions name had done to general student union in Iraqi republic in the second conference in i959 after the revolution of 14th of July 1958. - Our union get the membership of international union of students in 1950, part take in all its activities and held a commanding position where he take over the general secretariat for the time between 1961-1971. - The union hosted the sixth conference of international union of student in 1960 in Baghdad. - The union struggles, for students vocational and academic rights, to create developed scientific, social and livings circumstances - Although the terrorised circumstances, our unions leadership continues their work in secret form inside our country and achieves many success for the sake of vocational and national demands. And in this occasion we point to unions fundamental role in our peoples and students uprising in the spring of 1982, 1984, of autumn 1985. the mass uprising in 1986, 1987 and of March 1991. -The union has many branches in more than seven Arabic and European countries led by the bureau of foreign branches,(formerly, committee of arrangement of connections between conventions). The union is a founder member in (high committee of arrangement between, youth and students organizations in Kurdistan and the organizations of all Iraq) which includes seven youth and Iraqi students organizations, which were founded during the stud dents uprising in 1984. -The general union of students of Iraqi republic compounded from, general union of Kurdish students and the branches of the union in different governorates of the country with bureau of foreign branches of general union. -Our union joined tile international democratic south union in 1998 -The union held the fifth council (golden jubilee council) in the time between 3-4 of August 1997; i11 Shaqlawa-Erbil governorate. -The union has got dual relationships with many Arabic and other international organizations and signed many protocols with them.
