Gawcott

Gawcott is a hamlet in the parish of Buckingham, in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located to the south of the town. The hamlet name is Anglo Saxon in origin, and means 'cottage for which rent is payable'. In the Domesday Book in 1086 the hamlet was recorded as Chauescote.
