Gaius Valerius Pudens

Gaius Valerius Pudens was a Roman politican and general of the late second and early third centuries AD. He held command in Lower Pannonia before becoming consul in 194 and then governor of Germania Inferior. Around 202 or 203 he became governor of Roman Britain, serving until c. 206. An inscription at Bainbridge fort records new barracks being built under his governorship, possibly in connection with recent uprisings by the Brigantes. He served in Britain until c. 206.
