Gag Character

Gags are known as one-time pranks or gigs. A gag character is a character shown only once. They may be referred to again, but only if the show has organization. Cartoons like Speed Bump & Bizarro have gags in every strip, but each one might refer to the creator. Speed Bump shows characters wearing a West Michigan University & Detroit Red Wings shirts, clues that the creator is from Michigan, went to a small college in the Mid-American Conference, & likes Detroit sports.
