fyksian

Fyksian (in Fyksian: Vaijskskh) is a constructed language (conlang) project started by James Wong, creator of Fyksland, in 1996. It is a conlang inspired by an alternative history of the world in which the fictional island-nation of Fyksland exists. Because of the history and geography of Fyksland, Fyksian is a language largely influenced (in terms of vocabulary) by Germanic and Celtic, though it is not directly related to any other language etymologically. As an isolated language, the Fyksian grammar contains elements similar to those found in Finnish (e.g. an elaborate case system), Chinese (e.g. pronoun distinction), etc. Fyksian is not intended to be an auxlang. Its main uses are artistic, it being designed for the simulation of a realistic but fictitious language and micronation. Plans are afoot to use Fyksland as the basis of future fictional works.
