Future Boy Conan

Future Boy Conan or Conan: The Boy in Future (Japanese: 未来少年コナン Mirai Shounen Conan) is a 26 episodes anime series by Hayao Miyazaki first aired in April 1978. The series is about Conan and Lana's adventure, in a world that faced a near extinction of mankind because of weapons of mass destruction in the year 2008. The story is based on the novel "The Incredible Tide" by Alexander Key. Many believe that the characters of that series were the prototype for the characters of Miyazaki's later artwork Castle in the Sky (known as Laputa: The Castle in the Sky in Japan).
