Free Radio Santa Cruz

Free Radio Santa Cruz was a pirate radio station operating in Santa Cruz, California for almost 10 years before being raided by FCC. The city mayor expressed his support for the station, which was illegal due to its unlicensed status. The station was also transmitting its signal worldwide via the Internet (streaming). It recently began broadcasting again over the airwaves. *Local student news coverage of the FCC raid.
