Free National Movement

The Free National Movement is a political party in the Bahamas. It is the main opposition party, and has seven of 40 seats in the Bahamas House of Assembly, with 41.1 percent of the vote. It is led by Tommy Turnquest. From 1992, when it defeated its rival, the Progressive Liberal Party, in parliamentary elections, until 2002, when it lost parliamentary elections to the PLP, it was the most powerful party in the Bahamas, and its leader, Hubert Ingraham was prime minister.
