Fred Samuelson

Fred Binder Samuelson (born 1925) is an abstract painter. He was born in Harvey, Illinois. He received a BFA (1951) and MFA (1953) from the Art Institute of Chicago. He taught at the Instituto Allende art school in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico from 1955 until his retirement in 1980. While at Allende he painted prolifically, in oils, acrylics, watercolor, and other media. He presently makes his home in Rockledge, Florida. His work can be seen at his home studio, and is in the collections of several museums throughout the Southern U.S. His wife, Rose Ann Samuelson, is active in theater, and paints as well.
